Non-Toxic Laundry Detergent

We are all washing all the clothes, especially these days as we are either home more or needing to wash extra to keep the clothes clean! Here is a tried and true recipe that is quite popular and effective and, most importantly, non-toxic!

Grab a container, (glass is best in my opinion) Those really cute drink dispensers work well! This recipe is for 2 gallons. You may divide it as you wish! 🙂

First, you put in 1/2 cup washing soda (I didn’t know what it was before I started doing this either, so I’ve added a link to what I use if you click on the word “washing soda”). Then add warm distilled water to cover the soda. Stir it up! Once stirred, add 1/2 cup of Thieves laundry detergent. (If you don't yet use Thieves, hit me up! I will give you the hook up AND some free stuff...😉 )

Then add 1/4 cup of Thieves Household Cleaner which helps get the clothes SOOOO CLEAN! Add about 6-12 drops of whatever YL oil is your favorite. I use Purification because it’s an odor neutralizer, then I also add Thieves because well….Thieves! Orange or Citrus is another popular choice!

Mix is all up and top off with more distilled water and BOOM POW!!! You are DONE! Talk about easy to make and it’s cheap. It’s super good. And my body doesn’t have to fight it. Win, win, win.

There you go! An easy non-toxic recipe that you can feel good about! Happy Washing!

Winter Blues

It is January. But I am NOT a fan of the cold. I grew up in Wyoming. My parents moved from Minnesota because it was less cold in Wyoming. I spent 8 years in the PNW before moving back to Montana and Wyoming. Long story short, we are back on the west coast where it is WARMER! (and we LOVE it!) I mean, Montana and Wyoming have their beauty but wow- they often have winter temperatures below zero. Sometimes for weeks. Sometimes longer. Sometimes a lot longer. And, let's not forget, it is very common that the wind blows. It is NOT a breeze but wind. And it can get quite gusty. Yuck. So, needless to say, I am very grateful to be in Oregon, where the wind is rare and the freezing temperatures are even more rare! It is very nice to have mild days. Especially in comparison to Montana weather!

In two days, I have to fly home. Back to Montana/Wyoming. Back to my mom's house. My mom will not be there. It is hard to know what the emotions will be. I will be away from my family and will be having to handle family affairs. Taking care of things no one wants to take care of. It will be cold and will get colder during my time there.Much colder. It will start out at 30 degrees for the high and could get as cold as -30. For the HIGH. Yes...NEGATIVE 30. God help me. (Please send prayers!)

So, as I prepare to travel, I am preparing my immune system. Probiotics. Ningxia. Keeping up on all my vitamins and packing the necessities. Extra vitamin C. And, you bet, ALLLLLLL the oils. Well, Not all. My suitcase is not as big as I would like but it will have all the necessities. My mini diffuser to help reduce the airborne germs. Oils for emotional health and let's not forget Thieves. The Thieves spray and oil.

So what is the big deal about THIEVES???

Thieves essential oil is well known to reduce stress, neutralize bacterial and viral pathogens, improve digestion, strengthen bones and reduce inflammation, as well as lowering fevers, healing skin conditions, aiding weight loss and strengthening the respiratory system.

The benefits and uses of thieves essential oil are particularly valuable for people suffering from a weak immune system, gastrointestinal problems, inflammatory conditions, skin irritation, poor respiratory health, obesity, hypertension, and osteoporosis, among others.

Even though I can't do much about the frigid temperatures, I CAN do my best to take control over my health so I will not be sick... plus all the germs while flying? Yeah. Get some!!!
